What a wonderful day! The bike path along the river Cher was simply idyllic. Chenonceau castle is beautiful and the wine tasting was informative and welcoming. Picking up the bike and the using the navigation app was very straightforward. I was tired by the end; this was a full day activity. I enjoyed dinner in the charming centre of Amboise.

The history of the Château d'Amboise dates back to the 11th century, when the Count of Anjou built the castle on the promontory, surveying the Loire River, as a defence strategy. Between the 15th and 16th centuries , under the orders of Charles VII, Louis XII and Francois I, the castle was refurnished. Its magnificent facade can be attributed to Charles VIII and Francois I, and their love for Italian art and style. It was because of this passion for Italian art that Francois I invited Leonardo Da Vinci to come and reside in Amboise as his first painter, architect and engineer. Da Vinci arrived in 1516 and spent the remaining three years of his life living and working in the nearby Chateau du Clos Lucé (connected to the royal chateau by an underground passage). Leonardo Da Vinci died in Amboise and was buried in the Chapel of Saint-Hubert (on the ramparts of the Chateau d'Amboise). Visit few wineries and enjoy a delightful 3-course lunch during this wonderful tour.

Inclusions: Enjoy a delicious three course lunch at a local restaurant including starter main and desert, Wine tasting, Driver/guide, Hotel pickup and drop-off, Skip the line, Visit the Amboise castle and get to know its history with an audio-guide, Air conditioned mini-van

I meant to write this review ages ago, but with everything that's happened in 2020, it sadly fell off my plate--which is no reflection of my enthusiasm for Vincent or his company, VinoLoire...he's the best! Last Christmas, my wife and I booked an extended holiday at lovely holiday rental on the grounds of a lovely old chateau near Tours. Knowing that we were headed to the Loire, there were three main focus areas for our trip: relaxation, visit beautiful old chateau, and of course--wine tasting! We have taken many private wine tours throughout France, and Vincent is clearly at the top of his game. Vincent clearly has a relationship with many of the top producers throughout the Loire, is incredibly knowledgable about Wine himself (one of the main reasons I chose his company is his WSET cert), and was an excellent host for the day. In addition to the lovely wines we tasted (and purchased for the trip home), he also took us to an absolute gem of a restaurant that we would never have found on our own. All in all, I think we spent nearly 12 hours with him that day, and we never tired of his company--he was like family by the end of the day! There was no way we'd be able to hit all the great places in the part of the Loire where we were staying, so Vincent gave us a list of places to visit on our own throughout the duration of our trip. If you're considering a wine tour in the Loire, I cannot recommend Vincent enough!

This tour was perfect for our family. We wanted to go to Normandy but were not confident figuring out all of the trains to/from Paris so finding one that left from Paris was just what we needed. The weather was touch and go leading up to our scheduled tour date but Josef was in constant communication with us on what to maybe expect, if some things might be closed, what possible back up plans could be... thankfully we said lets just do and we are so glad we did! Josef was great, super knowledgeable and informative. It ended up being such a perfect day!
