Riverside is a city in Riverside County, California, United States, located in the Inland Empire metropolitan area. Riverside is the county seat of the eponymous county and named for its location beside the Santa Ana River. It is the most populous city in the Inland Empire and in Riverside County, and is located about 60 miles (97 km) east of Los Angeles. It is also part of the Greater Los Angeles area. Riverside is the 59th most populous city in the United States and 12th most populous city in California. As of the 2010 Census, Riverside had a population of 303,871.

After I found Oak Quarry Golf Course from 10 best golf courses in CA list a few years ago, I've been wanting to play there. Last couple of years, I ended up just passing by Riverside on my way to Palm Springs, but this year I made sure I play there on my way to Tucson. It was really a good decision - the course is very interesting and each holes present different views and challenges. I particularly liked #4 (split terraced fairway to the green surrounded with rock formation) and #14 which is intimidating par 3. I managed to land it on green from blue tee (~190 yards), but it was very stressful tee shot. Oak Quarry became one of my favorite courses.
