Amazing place! A beautiful house with an incredible history. We arrived out of hours (there is one tour a day, alternating between Italian and English, I think at around 11am) but Maria the manager gave us a personal tour anyway (for a small but completely reasonable fee). The 'secret room' is incredibly special.

Parco Letterario Salvatore Quasimodo

This is a must. Our guide was an expert communicator who took us through Quasimodo's life in compelling and absorbing detail, using photos, letters, and paintings. It was a fascinating story. We also watched a few videos my favourite of which showed the poet reading from one of his poems. Then we visited the other part of the museum, a series of railway carriages adorned with more fascinating details from his life and works. A splendid morning. Proof of which: I cannot wait to get my hands on a book of his poems. Final point- he recommended a superb local restaurant on the seafront where we then had a late lunch: Sapori di mare. Thank you, Avvocato.
