Fenals Beach

Spent 1 week on this beach in June and 1 week in October and have to say we love the beach yes it’s shingles and there’s a bank into the water and then a bit of a shelf in the water (so beware with little ones) but in places there is waves and they are so much fun tumbling you around we had such fun trying to get in and out of the water. Your bather, bikini or shorts will end up full of shingles if you get tumbled though. There’s a little ice cream hut at the end of beach towards Lloret end and the ice creams are lovely and reasonably priced too.

La Fosca Beach

This is our favourite beach in the area. The sand is pure soft sand and the sea shelves very gradually making it ideal for young children. If you use the right side of the rocks (by the pedallos) the sea is much clearer. You can swim out quite far and still stand as it’s shallow for quite a way. There are activities available such as kayaking and our children have always enjoyed searching for crabs and fish amongst the rock pools. The cafes and bars are great and not too pricey. Only problem would be parking in the area but we have found a great little spot that charges €3 for the whole day which is to the right side behind some of the apartments and hotels.

A small holiday resort and fishing village. Not comercialised like other Costa Brava resorts. There are no large hotels and mass turism. The town has some small hotels and few quality restaurants along with a lovely beach.

A beautiful bay with a few cafes and restaurants, worth a visit and stop out of season. The beach is also very clean and well kept. The downside is limited parking so in high season either walk or go to one of the other beautiful beaches in the area.
