L'Albarda Garden

The Garden of l'Albarda is a project of Fundem, created to raise awareness about the importance of the use of native species in gardening and the sustainable use of resources. It is a demonstrative Renaissance garden, 50,000 m2 in Denia, Alicante. In addition to its great biodiversity of flora, you can find architectural examples of great beauty, works in metal and ceramics that remind us of the Arab influence. The garden of l'Albarda is an example to follow in the implantation or restoration of Mediterranean gardens, contributing to conserve the great biodiversity of our community in the most sustainable way. The garden is open every day and there are many activities: guided tours, environmental education, concerts, celebrations...

Spent a lovely 2 hours here with the family strolling along the paths of the formal gardens and occasionally wandering into the wooded areas. The most surprising thing about the gardens is they are only around 40 years old whereas the owner has done a wonderful job of giving the impression that the gardens are significantly older. Will return in the summer when everything should be in full bloom including the many arched/pergolad walkways. Many wonderful views of surrounding countryside available from strategically placed benches and seats.

It is best to ring to make a reservation for your visit. There is parking on site and it is all level with good access.

Such a beautiful place. Serene, green and lush with plenty of places to sit down in the shade as you contemplate the gorgeous palm trees and peacocks. Don’t miss the Imperial Palm Tree dedicated your Austrian Empress ‘Sissi’ who came to visit in the 19th century.

I recently went to these tea rooms with a bus group and loved it. The place is so charming and well displayed. I enjoyed wandering the gardens and truly felt I was in Morocco. The lovely stone paths, the calming music, the pottery, the Bedouin tent, the resident peacock, everything was perfect. The selection of teas was incredible, I had a delicious Rooibos chocolate flavoured tea. I also loved the baklava type pastries. As the sun set, the gardens and tea rooms took on a romantic, exotic feel. I wandered the candlelit paths and discovered many more interesting scenes. I didn't want to leave. If you are looking for something a bit different, this is the place to visit. It can be hard to find as it's tucked away but that is part of the charm. I will be bringing out of town guests here to be sure!!

A gorgeous park filled with palm trees, hibiscus plants and water falls. The perfect place to have a stroll on a warm day, with lots of shaddy spots to keep out of the sun. Take a book or some knitting, take some food, or grab a bite at the lovely little cafe in the centre. Owed by a lovely lady, very friendly staff and very reasonably priced. A perfect afternoon!
