We were lucky to witness a moment when nature firmed a natural "rainbow" on the walls of the rocks (see attached pic). Impressive view. Beautiful site.

The Vixia Herbeira is a a surreal place, especially on a misty day, and involves three marvels, none of which really involves the small plant that the locality is known for. Firstly it is a place of wind, and there are hundreds of massive wind turbines adjacent to the viewing area. The giant towers provide a pretty amazing and rare sight, especially at the viewing area is slightly elevated from the ridges where the turbines are lined up. For those not accustomed to seeing such sights it is a pretty unreal experience. Second, the view of the massive cliffs below conjure up images of ancient times and extreme landscapes, with the seas below pounding on the rocks below. Thirdly, there appears to be an ancient building built completely out of close fitting stone on the site (even the roof). All information at the location are in Spanish or local dialect, but it appears no information id provided on the origins of this small building. All of these seem to overshadow the masses of the small colourful bush that covers the slopes and hillsides. The trip was well worth the effort and formed a part the road journey from Carino to Cediera along the coastal route.
