Walking into this place I had no idea what I was about to experience as it was booked as a surprise for me hen do (I know I’m weird). It was so amazing I wish I would give it more stars! A must for any person who loves a horror movie. It was like being in one! I would highly recommend if you’re looking for something different to do in Kraków. If anyone is unsure you can leave at any time (which my Sister did as she couldn’t cope). Absolutely brilliant, the highlight of my hen!

We loved the show put on by an old Baca, there is a good interaction going on between the old and the new generation, we thought the presentation was very good, the whole process of coming from sheep milk to Oscypek became living and clear. The old Baca is quite the character, had a good cheer and attitude, the presentation setup is close up, intimate almost, very enjoyable experience. Very good to take kids to.

This is one of the best attractions we have ever been to see, you have a guided tour of the mine and see the sculptures created by some of the miners after their shifts had finished, lasts about two hours or more. If you could get to see all the mine workings you'd probably be down there for a couple of days as you only get to see about 3 percent of the mine.

POLIN Muzeum Historii Zydow Polskich

The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is the first and only museum dedicated to restoring the memory of the civilization created by Polish Jews in the course of a millennium.Museum's building faces the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes in Warsaw. The Museum completes the memorial complex. At the monument, we honor those who perished by remembering how they died. At the museum, we honor them, and those who came before and after, by remembering how they lived. As a museum of life, POLIN Museum engages with the present and opens out to the future. As an educational and cultural institution, the museum is dedicated to stimulating dialogue in the spirit of mutual understanding and respect. Museum's core exhibition is a journey through the 1000-year history of Polish Jews. Enter this theater of history where the story unfolds in acts and scenes as you walk. Immerse yourself in the story. Encounter those who lived in each period - their words are quoted throughout the exhibition. Enter the scene - a salon, tavern, home, church, synagogue, or schoolroom. There are surprises in drawers you can open, screens and objects you can touch, and much that you can see - artifacts, photographs, documents, and films. Each visit to the museum will be different. There will always be something new to inspire you!

This is am amazing museum that truly enables the visitor to feel like they have lived in Poland through the many centuries depicted: the impact of Polish Jews with regard to culture, arts and religion, the rise and fall of the Nazis and the Communists. Very well thought out designed so that visitors move from space to space. Truly well done!!

The Museum Route in Cracow Saltworks Museum is located entirely on level III of the mine and is about 1.5 kilometres long. Sightseeing of the Route takes about 1 hour. Sightseeing of Museum Route does not entail any additional cost, it can be visited by the same ticket to the Mine. What are the major features on the Museum Route? The giant horse powered hoisting machines represent one of the chief attractions. The device known as the "Polish" is the world’s largest wooden mining machine! Lovers of arts and handicraft will surely be enchanted by paintings of Jan Matejko, the precious Horn of the Hewer Guild and a luxury train constructed for the top authorities of the Austria-Hungary Empire. The Museum Route also features smaller objects illustrating both work of historical Wieliczka miners, their customs and everyday life. There are also places that will attract attention of nature lovers, such as the exhibition of salt crystals from the famous Crystal Caves.

A brilliant attraction which shows the history of the salt trade in Krakow and the mine overall. The salt mine is located within 30mins from Krakow and is a must do which doesn't cost that much. You're escorted by a tour guide and please check timings of tours before you reach the place. The tour takes 2 hours and involves climbing down stairs (around 800 steps in total) so wear appropriate footwear. The whole tour is safe and travelled by millions per year. Most mainstay hotels in Krakow arrange these tours so they should be able to provide guidance.
