We didn't think this would be so much fun! What a great experience! Our group of 4 adults loved it. We all made pumpkins and then we stayed and opted to make another item: Ornaments, paperweights and another pumpkin. They walk you thru the whole process, it's a lot of hand holding, but that's ok for your first time! It was fun, interactive and the guys were awesome. Definately would do it again! Make sure if you book it and your are from out of town you allow enough time to go back and get your items, it's 2 days until they are ready for pick up. We went on Monday and were able to get our items before flying home at the end of the week.

Heritage Hats is the largest hat store in the Phoenix-Scottsdale area and has been independently owned and operated for 35 years. If you are visiting the valley of the sun and looking for hat protection for hiking, golfing, or any other activity; we are your one stop hat destination. We will custom fit your hat on the premises. We are the proud recipient of the top sales and service award from Stetson (in the country) for 2017, winner of Best of Phoenix Magazine; featured in Arizona Highways and many local TV stations; most recently Corey's Corner on Fox 10. We are located at 13602 N. Cave Creek Road which is south of Greenway and North of Thunderbird Road. Just look for the big HATS sign on the west side of the street. We look forward to helping you select the right hat for your southwest experience.

Great Hats - Great Service I have lived just a few miles from Heritage Hats, at 13602 N Cave Creek Rd, in north Phoenix, for about 19 years, before I first stopped in, and was amazed at what I found. I had associated Heritage Hats with only western headgear, which was not my thing, stylistically. Yes, they do stock so many western hats, but so very much more. This visit in June was great, and in so many ways. I wear a lot of Panama-style hats, and all with fairly large brims. I fly with those (and a few felt models for Winter, or cold climates), and wear them out with some frequency, as they get placed under airline seats, or in overhead bins all of the time. I was down to only about two, which fit my travel needs, though had several very high-end models, that I just could not imagine subjecting to the rigors of flying. I was in-need, so stopped by Heritage Hats, to see if they could just give me suggestions on where to look for my wide-brimmed fedoras. Well, I did not need to look beyond Heritage Hats - they had it all. The owner was working with another customer, when I walked in, so I just poked around for about 5 mins, and realized that my initial impression of Heritage Hats had been wrong. In about 10 minutes, I was being helped. One thing that I had noticed, was how much time, and care, the owner had given the previous customer. He went into great detail on every aspect of the hat, that the other fellow was buying - nice, personal touch, and well-worth waiting for. When I was up, I explained what I was looking for, and even had an example of one of my “travel hats” with me. Immediately, we were in the rear of the store, and I had four great options in front of me. All four were exactly what I was looking for, so all I had to do was decide on the brim width, and crown shape. In moments, I had made my choices - a larger-brimmed “Australian” model, and then a bit more “dressy” model, with slightly smaller (but still rather large) brim. Each was custom fit with just a bit of padding (I wear a long-oval, which is seldom made nowadays), within the band. I was set. While not inexpensive, both hats were a good value, and the personalized service excellent! I’ll be back, as soon as it’s time to replace my Winter travel hats, which will likely be soon.

Changing Hands Bookstore & First Draft Book Bar

Reviewed By lotsagoldens

This is just the coolest book store in AZ! It's part of a complex: next door is the Southern Rail restaurant, and there is a gardening store, which was unfortunately closed when we were there but which looked intriguing. It's a fun store to poke around in, with great staff suggestions, a section with local books, many "gifty" items, and a full bar! We attended a book group meeting, which had a lively discussion. Loved this place!

Always a pleasure to shop at any Trader Joes and this was up to par with the rest of them. Seem to buy more than I intended every time I go in but that's ok as it is good food.
