Things to do in Perth, Western Australia: The Best Game & Entertainment Centers

January 4, 2022 Major Galusha

Perched on the banks of the wide Swan River, between the Indian Ocean and the sands of the Nullarbor Desert, Perth is one of the world's most isolated cities, yet still boasts an active beach scene and smokin’ nightlife. Family-friendly Cottesloe is brimming with swimmers, surfers and snorkelers. Head north to Scarborough for a spirited beachside club scene. Coo at cute marsupials on ferry-accessible Rottnest Island, and don’t miss the views from King's Park and Botanic Gardens.

The Nostalgia Box Museum

Featured in 2019 Guinness World Record Gamer's Edition and Lonely Planet, The Nostalgia Box is Australia's first interactive Video Game Console Museum. The museum is a celebration of video games and the people that made them happen. The museum contains more than 100 consoles, representing the evolution—and sometimes revolution—that occurred from the 1970s through the 2000s. Go behind the scenes of your favorite games and consoles, learning about the tremendous work that went into them. Play a plethora of classic video games, replaying games from your childhood or making entirely new discoveries. Play a round of Pong, challenge a friend to a high score in Space Invaders, or blast through levels of Super Mario Bros, Sonic the Hedgehog, Alex Kidd, and Crash Bandicoot. This is merely scratching the surface. Relive your childhood, discover gaming's sometimes secret history, and plant appreciation for old-school gaming in a younger generation.

The Nostalgia Box is a museum about gaming and specifically video games, as it contains more than 100 consoles. The Nostalgia Box is the first interactive video game console museum in Australia and it is located in the Western of the country, in Perth. It was featured in the 2019 Guinness World Record Gamer’s Edition and Lonely Planet. I am a big gamer myself and I couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to visit this incredible place. I choose to play only pokies that require no download and no registration because I don’t like wasting time. I find pokies that work at pokieslab.com, link attached in by bio. I am not a big console player but I couldn’t pass out on this. I tried playing some original Nintendo games such as SEGA and I have to say that comparing to pokies it was a familiar experience. The simplicity of the gaming experience is the same and both have a nostalgic feeling sometimes. Pokies are simple games with a clear goal like many other older games. Playing pokies online though was a little different than playing live with people surrounding you and I wouldn’t say I like the attention. I also played some of the Arcade games that I was too young to experience when they were in.

I did the one-hour 737 experience. I did two take offs and two landings, including one challenging approach. The instructor was great and the experience was really fun! You get a feeling of how complex it is to fly this kind of aircraft. I highly recommend it.
