Psili Ammos Beach

My husband and I are going to patmos since many many years and a “must-do” is always the walk to psili Amos, which is around 25 minutes each way (I recommend to bring proper shoes). The hike is beautiful and you will have outstanding views. Once you arrive in “psili” a gorgeous sandy beach and an amazing taverna which serves homemade food. Really a must-see when you are on patmos! I would recommend to check the wind conditions before you go and to avoid weekends because during the week it is way less crowded!

This quiet beach is in a lovely bay between Skala and Kampos. It's a long beach with a bar and restaurant at the end (both are great). There are sunbeds for hire (6 euros each) plus canoes and sup paddle boards for hire (10 euros per hour). We loved coming here as it has a relaxing vibe yet all the amenities you'd want.

Kampos Beach

If you want an organised beach, with sunbeds, cafes, tavernas and a bus to take you door to door and back again then this is a great beach. We chose Maria's sunbeds, simply because it was nearest the bus stop and its price clearly displayed. I've never had service like it. She came round regularly to check you were alright, and adjusted the umbrellas depending whether you wanted shade or sun. You can bring your own drinks as well or visit the local hostelries. Even the wind was shielded. A perfect day.

Petra Beach

The beach itself is nothing to shout about - pebbly beach with a few expensive deckchairs on it (we brought our own beach towels). What makes the place special is the Kallikatsou rock, which stands out into the water at the end of it. You can scramble up to the top of it, and explore some of the man made markings on it from when monks used to stay on it. You also get a lovely view of the surrounding seas and the beaches. The water is also very clear to swim it.
