Camilo and future customers. I spent a lot of time researching someone to be a contact person, driver and knowledgeable guide. One of the names that kept surfacing was Camilo. For our group of 4 women in their 60’s who knew very little Spanish our husbands wanted to know where we would be and who we would be with. Especially with all the negative press about Uber drivers not keeping their hands to themselves. However, I truly believe that I would be more concerned about an Uber driver in the States than I ever would be in Panama. That was one of many reasons we chose Camilo. I also did not want to hassle with getting an Uber from Gamboa and I wanted the person to know who they were going to deal with for the week. Camilo went above and beyond his duty to make our trip smooth. Actually three days before I was set to leave I was calling him through WhatsApp to assist me with someone who was trying to get money from me for a excursion early. When we were lost he stopped what he was doing and tended to our emergency. I was able to negotiate prices ahead of time so it made budgeting easy. In regards to transportation I.e cab/Uber/driver. In life I am of the general philosophy that you get 3 estimates and throw out the top and bottom and go with the middle. Of course other information factors in. This is how I Camilo compared to another drive in regards to price.(CAB) (email: [email protected] Facebok: [email protected] whatsapp: +5073013333) I got an estimate from Amber Moon and Camilo for two pick ups from Tocumen to the Radisson & Pick from Radisson to Albrook Airport. $115.00 Camilo. $100.00 Amber Moon. Camilo went above and beyond just giving us rides. He was really our only bilingual human that we could call at anytime if we hit a snag along the way. It was worth the extra 15%. I’m not sure if Amber Moon could have given us the level of service Camilo did maybe? but I went with my gut. * Upon arrival; Camilo was waiting inside the airport with all the other drivers who had names written. I followed the airport signs saying saying drivers would be outside so I did not see my name. Despite the fact he was inside with the sign with my name and I was outside we found each other. ( The passenger sitting next to me on the plane was friendly and we introduced ourselves. I ran into him outside and told him I couldn’t find my driver. He said “Oh I saw a man with your name on it inside!) * The next morning we were off to Albrook Airport. The three other girls did not know we were taking a plane. I just told them a ferry. Camilo picked us up from Radisson Panama Canal Hotel and played along with the surprise. After returning from three nights in Bocas Del Toro, our next lodging destination was Gamboa at an Air B & B. We felt time was short as we wanted to be settled in the house long before dark and we were driving ourselves. Our plan was to do some sightseeing before heading up to Gamboa. * So knowing this I hired Camilo to meet us at the airport and take us to Casa Viejo and the Locks. He met us getting off the plane at 11:00 am. He was instrumental in securing the rental car because of the rude asinine way we went about it. I had originally made two reservations at different agencies. If there was no trouble I was then going to cancel the other one. Budget was $127.00 and Hertz was $57.00. Same car. This was the online reservation price I made in September. ( That also change weekly so always go back and check.) I wanted to find out what the difference was. I had no idea the rental counters were going to be two feet from each other. The following events were not pre-planned but just happened. I ended up tying up two car rental counters at the same time. My girlfriend was at Hertz and I was at Budget. We asked each to give us the final price will all insurances out the door. Because Camilo’s English was so good he could explain to them what we were doing. In the end it was $220.00 for Hertz $300.00 for Budget. Same cars. We took Hertz. * I know we could have easily taken ourselves via cab/Uber to Casa Viejo & the Locks however, we were tight for time and Camilo was quick to get us through all we wanted to see and do. We would have spent so much time trying to navigate. I know people will say you don’t need a guide at the locks but we had less than an hour and would have never navigated from the parking lot through the top floor and museum without Camilo in an hour. * He also showed us how to get from the airport to the largest grocery store I have ever seen in Central America. It was above a parking garage and it was Rey’s just a couple blocks from Albrook airport. Most important we would have never gotten that cool pic of the four of us in the museum. That is where we bought our food for the Gamboa house. So we were on the road by 4:30 on the way to the BirdHouse in Gamboa thanks to Camilo. Our next excursion from Gamboa was to visit the Embera Village. We drove ourselves. So had a grand time and all went well until we were driving back to Gamboa. The sign choices were Panamá or Colon. I had such fear put in me about that town that I went towards Panama. What a fiasco. We were 15/20 minutes from the house but that wrong turn cost us 2 hours and 15 minutes. Not to mention going through the tolls back and forth 6/8 times. Eventually, we hailed a cab driver and he called (because we had no phone) Camilo and I explain to him we were lost and by then I was in tears lol. He spoke with the cab driver and we followed him. So the plan was to follow the cab driver to a location with WiFi (some kind of 7-11 food place/ gas station/store.) and put in Waze for the trip back to Gamboa. All was well again. Of course I threw more money to the cab driver for being so kind and helpful. Again thank goodness for Camilo. His time was spent without payment and he just dropped what he was doing to tend to my emergency. Dumb Americans is what he must have been really thinking lol. So my last contact was the morning I left. Camilo picked me up in Gamboa and the other girls had a late checkout and drove the rental car back to Tocumen with out a pinch of trouble. In closing to end this short novel I would highly recommend Camilo. Yes he is a little more money than other drivers/guides but it’s the quality that works for me. It’s personal for each vacationer. I’m not in my 20’s or 30’s and I am frugal in my day to day living. When I am on holiday I save a little extra and go for first class if it’s a good value. Camilo was a good value. Thanks for all you did for our group Camilo. And you were right the drive to the Embera meeting point was hard. Shawn

I had contacted several companies for helping us tour Panama City during a long layover. Donald from R&E responded very quickly and unlike others didn’t quote the Earth for a 4-hour tour. We paid a tiny deposit to confirm the booking. Edwin Wong was our guide and driver and we couldn’t have had a better or more pleasant introduction to Panama. We toured the old town, had lunch at a restaurant at the Marina and spent a couple of hours at the Panama Canal. Edwin also helped us shop for some good souvenirs at a reasonable price. Ultimately we spent close to 6 hours on this tour. I would highly recommend this company for their promptness, professionalism and knowledge.

Their motto is Punctuality, Reliability and Honesty and they certainly live up to it. As soon as I contacted them via email, Meyber got back to me promptly, answered all my questions and quoted a good price. When we arrived at the airport Renan was there to meet us with our name on a sign as soon as we cleared customs. He was professional, friendly and an excellent driver. Our destination was a couple of hours away and we enjoyed our ride. Five days later, Joshua (Renan’s brother) was there to meet us and provided another excellent trip back to Panama City. We also scheduled an early morning ride to the airport. Super pleased with all aspects of their service...their motto says it all!
