Known as Padova in Italian, Padua may be the oldest city in northern Italy, if you believe the claims of its 12th-century BC founding by Trojans. In addition to the Cappella dei Scrovegni which is amazing, there is an excellent are gallery with a huge collection of important paintings fro 12th Century onwards - well presented and very helpful staff. Good value

Opened in 2014, this museum is on the site of the first ‘ospedale’. Focus is on history of medicine, here is the birthplace ..., human anatomy and a health and nutrition activity for the younger set. Definitely something for everyone. Don’t miss it! Diana and Winston, tucson AZ USA

The Jewish Heritage Museum of Padua means a multimedia experience together with the exhibition of a huge amount of Judaica from the past centuries to the present. The the visitor is introduced to the history of the Jews in Padua. Guided Tours to the Ghetto, to the five ancient cemeteries and to the Italian rite Synagogue (16th century) are provided by professional guides. A video installation (45 minutes) gives the visitor the opportunity to take part in the life of ten outstanding Jewish figures that populated the town in the past.

With its beautiful architecture and painstakingly selected objects of Jewish life, this little museum glows with the love of its curators. I have seen other Jewish museums that were larger, more elaborate with more artifacts but this museum warms the heart.This museum also exhibits a few items related to the race laws of Italy and ID documents - very rare artifacts.
