A quirky, curious little shop filled with tweed, art, gifts, vintage finds, wotnots, repurposed bits and bobs, scented soaps and candles, gorgeous china, glorious stuff and nonsense and smiles.

We are a small wooden gift shop located on Berneray. We stock a wide range of gifts from local handmade Hebridean products to souvenirs, selection of greeting cards, local photography items and jewellery. We also stock a wide range of nautical / island themed items. We have a takeaway hot drinks machine & free wifi (available during opening hours).

Designed and Created on Harris - Handmade Glass Embroidered Art, Souvenirs and Personalised Gifts - all created in Harris and inspired by the landscape. Art Gallery includes works by local artists. Teas and coffees also served. Restroom with baby changing facilities. Disabled parking and access.

Inspired by the Atlantic coastline, I create unique stoneware ceramic sculptures and vessels from my Hebridean home on the Isle of North Uist. Natural beach-weathered sea fragments, abandoned at the high-tide line, provide some of the natural textures captured on the surface of the clay. Some pieces of work are enriched with locally gathered beach sands and rock sediments, which once fired in the kiln, transforms into rich warm chestnut tones, creating a truly unique Hebridean gift. The Gallery also exhibits original art works from several North Uist artists.

Working craft studios, with retail galleries of resident artists, visitor viewing area and Oystercatcher tearoom. Currently comprising, Glass designer, Pottery & Ceramics, Blacksmith's forge and a Jeweller working in chain maille and polymer clay. Solus Studio Glass, Alan Whittle Ceramics, Aidan's Forge and Sitheil Design.

When you visit the weaving shed you will be able to see, hear, smell and feel the weaving process as you watch the iconic Harris Tweed being woven. Explore the production process, find out about the warp and weft, the textures in a shuttle, how the cloth is finished and the history of the Orb stamp. The shop holds an excellent selection of handcrafted Harris Tweed clothes, accessories, bags and home ware all made by the weaver. Also available are original art works and jewellery the weaver makes from shells, sea glass and Lewisian Gneiss all collected from the local beaches. Bespoke commissions are always welcome, have something created especially for you. Something for everyone set in the stunning scenery of the traditional crofting township of Crossbost Open 10 till 5 Monday to Saturday all year round.
