If you are looking for an active place to stay with world-class attractions, Ohio’s major cities can satisfy any vacation desire. Each offers its own distinct flavor of fun, from professional sports – Bengals (Cincinnati), Cavaliers (Cleveland) and Indians (Cleveland again) – to museums, outdoor activities and more. One of the most famous is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. If football is your thing, don’t miss the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. For the science-minded, visit the meat eaters at the Carnivore Conservation Center in the Wilds near Cambridge, dedicated to the breeding and scientific study of endangered mid-sized carnivores. Kids will also love Planet Snoopy in Sandusky or the Columbus Zoo’s Zoombezi Bay Waterpark and Jack’s Landing rides.

The 360-acre Ohio Expo Center is one of the most dynamic event venues in the Midwest. Located in the heart of Columbus, its 20-building complex provides more than one million square feet of event space under multiple roofs, complemented with parking for 14,000 vehicles. The Ohio Expo Center has been home to the famed Ohio State Fair since 1886.
I've been to tons of events here, including the State Fair, gun and turkey show, rodeos, competitions, animal showings, etc. It's a great facility with ample parking, lots of different venues for different kinds of events, easy access and navigation within the grounds

I attended a conference (headquartered in the Hyatt) and trade show in the Convention Center this month. The location is great. Easily accessible from the airport by public transportation or other services. There are many hotels and restaurants within walking distance. Best of all is the beautiful convention center.

My husband and I visited the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center over the weekend. The home where the museum is housed, is quite beautiful. They have done a great job keeping the home in a beautiful state. This would be a fantastic wedding venue for anyone looking! The art is minimal, but unique and worth seeing. They have many historical articles as well, and one of the gentlemen who works there is eager to talk about the history of the home and the family. It doesn't take long to get through the entire house, but it is definitely worth a trip if you are in the area!

If you happen to be in the Akron area during late November and early December, you MUST visit the Knight Center’s Akron Children’s Hospital Christmas Tree Festival. We came her for the flying pig running expo on a extremely busy day. You will find a parking lot located right next to the convention center AND it's located in the city center area. A big plus when your staying in the hotels near by or don't want to take your car. It's a very big building so take advantage of your trying to get some steps in for that day.
