Why would you fly when you can take this train – fast, comfortable, quick immigration processing on the train, central departure and arrival. We bought our tickets on line several months in advance on the Russian RZD website with no problems, first class was only about 8,500 roubles per person and included a very good breakfast. Extremely comfortable and spacious seats. But standard class looked very good also. Just be aware that there is a separate Allegro lounge at the railway station, which is off to the side from the main entry. Our taxi (Yandex) dropped us at the main entry and it was only after we had put our luggage and ourselves through security screening and I mentioned Helsinki to one of the officials, that they pointed us in the right direction (which meant another lot of security). We took the early morning departure and our train was not very crowded (only two others in first class but still only a few dozen in the waiting lounge, and that was in late June). Arrived into Helsinki refreshed just after 10am, ready for a near full day of sightseeing.
