Daintree Village Hotel

There are not too many places these days that can claim to be truly, "at the end of the road". Though the peaceful little village of the Daintree is undeniably one of them. Nestled on the banks of the majestic Daintree River and bordering the oldest living rainforest, Daintree Village makes up for its lack of size with heart, wonder and a spirit of adventure... and just a short drive north of Port Douglas, the Daintree Village Hotel is the perfect place to start your northern journey... The Daintree Village Hotel is a full bar and restaurant, with a general store, bottle shop, and tour booking office.

We have been to Daintree a couple of times now, coming from Brisbane. Today’s trip was just for the day from Cairns, because we haven’t been able to stop thinking about the Daintree Village Hotels parmi since our last trip a year ago. Hands down the best parmi in Australia and we have been to many pubs and tried many parmis! Keep up the great work guys

We were not intending to have lunch there, just a cold drink. We decided to have their $10.00 lunch: Steak, Chips & coleslaw (choice of Normal Gravy, Dianne Sauce or Pepper Gravy). Cost was $38.50 for a pint of Northern and a Piccalo of wine. Staff very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this pub. We will be back, for sure.

OK All ... you won't find a friendlier, more atmospheric and cute little bar than The Conservatory Bar in Cairns City ... and you definitely won't find a more knowledgeable owner/bar person on the subject of all things of an alcoholic nature that Ross! It's always a pleasure to saunter into this place and be greeted like an old friend by Ross and (sometimes) his missus. He'll always remember your preferences and will frequently suggest something that may be a little better or 'different' (I've got to trust him explicitly :-) ). If you have more than just a champagne taste Ross will find and sell you a glass (or bottle if your bank balance permits) of the rarest and most beautiful wines you'll find anywhere. Sadly my credit cards have a limit ... but I enjoy Ross's magical G'n'T's on a most regular basis. The atmosphere resembles a good friends stately sitting room ... red leather Chesterfield sofas and an older World charm ... but ... it ain't that 'large' so get there early and grab the best bit of red leather you can find. If that fails there's still plenty of room outside in the fresh air courtyard. Oh yeah ... ask Ross about his Wine Tasting evenings ... where he shares his wealth of knowledge on all things 'grape' ;-) ... Just do it ...

Jimmy Rum's

Jimmy Rum's is a classy Dive Bar in Port Douglas, Australia. Serving delicious cocktails in the Worlds Coolest Lounge.

A super quirky, moody cocktail bar that you’d never imagine to find in PD! We came here after a great dinner at Melaleuca and had some gorgeous salted caramel and apple crumble martinis, and an Incredible Hulk cocktail (think melted choc mint icecream!). I loved that this was something COMPLETELY different in a beach town of cafes dominated with nautical aesthetics. Great service and mixing abilities from the staff.

Flamingos Tiki Bar

A modern interpretation of a Polynesian bar, Flamingos Tiki Bar is a tropical oasis hidden beneath street level in the hustle and bustle of the Cairns CBD. Created by four friends who share a love of bringing people together, all things tropical, and enjoying a bloody good drink! Step into our intimate sanctuary and you are welcomed by a clean warm interior with splashes of fun from the tiki gods. Tropical prints, neon, palm trees, bamboo and hula girls grace the walls while you sip away on a classic Zombie cocktail or a Flamingos original. Good vibes guaranteed! Flamingos hallmark is its specialty drinks; with a variety of rums, liquors, exotic syrups, bitters and fresh juices served in dramatic vessels with over the top garnishes. More than just a liquid, our drinks are an experience. So escape to Flamingos, order a drink and let your cares sail away.
