I signed up for a 'Learn to Sail' course which ran Tuesdays and Thursday evenings for 6 weeks. The instructor was very experienced and knowledgable and very good at clearly explaining all of the terminology and how to find our way around the boat. All clothing and equipment was provided and we were lucky with the weather so got out for a sail for at least 90-120 minutes of every session. Wellington is such a beautiful city and getting out on the water offers some incredible views. I'd highly recommend learning to sail for anyone who has moved to Wellington and Ocean Sports provide an excellent service!

Jonathan welcomed us and gave us maps and interesting things to spot along the way, he was very knowledgeable about the area and sea conditions giving us good advice about how far we should paddle to stay safe and be back in time for our two hour hire. Nine of us headed out around the coast to the right of the wharf and headed to the sea arch which took us over crystal clear water to a wonderful swimming spot. The Kayak's are life jackets are in good condition and instructions covered everything we needed to know to make it a fun activity for all of our group.

Black Pearl Charters - Private Trips

Black Pearl Charters is a Wellington Fishing Charter company that provides recreational saltwater fishing trips departing from Mana and Seaview Marinas in Wellington. The Black Pearl is safe, reliable and cruising at 25 knots gets you to the fishing spots quickly and safely. Skipper, Matt Dobson has been fishing the Wellington area for over 20 years, run charters and been a top trout guide.

Reviewed By Barrettsfhd

We had an awesome trip and Matt Dobson is a very good operator, nice clean boat very tidy machine indeed. Even though the fishing was slow and it was only a short 4 hour trip Matt did his utmost to get a few fish in the bin for us. Couldn't fault it really when the fish don't play the game, that's just fishing at the end of the day.

Had a great flight with Frank in the P40. I have had a few flights in warbirds and trainers, and I have to say that the package Frank put together for the P40 was superb. This consisted of lots of low level through the Hunua Ranges, a "strafing run" against an enemy position and then some aeros. They also have non aerobatic scenic options. I cant speak highly enough about Frank, Liz, Ben and the team at Ardmore. The whole experience was professional and friendly. Highly recommended.

The fully hosted, Māori experiences are guided by trained Awa navigators. Spend up to 16 hours traversing the beautiful Awa in a canoe, while learning about the rich history, kai, and kōrero. Visit the website or call us to learn more.

We had an amazing time on the river, with great scenery and vistas. This is not for the faint hearted- 90km of river to paddle in 3 days requires staying power. Having the cultural guide was a definite plus as he was able to tell us about the land, the legends and instruction for the rapids. Visiting a Maori Marae and experiencing a welcome ceremony helped us understand the culture. I would advise anyone booking to send the exact requirements for the numbers of tents, sleeping mats, sleeping bags, pillows and any dietary restrictions in one single email to avoid communication confusion.
