It is a famous settlement of Thais who are descendants of the Mon people. Throughout the years, the Koh Kret island has successfully upheld its ancient cultural charms and traditional character of their ancestors. Nowadays, Ko Kret is known for its rural atmosphere and its busy weekend market. Worked with Diana to book Thailand trip and she did a very good job putting a detailed itinerary together for me. Then Covid19 hit and American Airlines cancelled flight to Thailand via Hong Kong. We couldn't get there. UME Travel gave us a partial refund for which I appreciated. So a month ago I started re-planning to go to Thailand in 2021 but Diana wouldn't ever answer my emails. So I requested Phoebe to help me and she did but after sending me a couple options, and I sending back my suggestions, no response for the last four days and today going on five days. I would like to use UME Travel as I had a good experience the first time but since then, I would give their response time a failing grade. If this improves, I will update this review.

Take in the richly ornamental architecture and elaborately stepped roofs of the reception palace, Duck under the silent dome of Thailand’s most sacred temple which shelters a solid jade Buddha that only a reigning king may touch. Finally, head to Wat Pho the largest temple complexes in the city and famed for its giant reclining Buddha that measures 46 meters long and is covered in gold leaf.

We did our own tour, reading ahead of time and as we walked across the bridge. The area is beautiful and has a dark history that is definitely worth researching about ahead of time.

Nice touring company that we wanted to book with, but didn’t as they support animal suffering. Elephant backs are the most vulnerable part of their bodies, which no one should use for leisure (or work, for that matter). Also, these elephants are captured from the wild and broken in (=beaten till they surrender). No animal loving human being would support these practices.
