We were delighted to see that this small promontory was reserved for the public, and we felt it was tastefully designed with a curving "vanishing" walkway leading down to the viewing area where there are teakwood benches facing the sea. The viewing area is romantic, so weddings are held there. The shape of the viewing area suggests the bow of a small boat facing the activity on the beach and channel to the Newport Beach harbor, but we felt that the view to the south was the most captivating because of the shapes of the cliff and rugged rocks in and near the water, especially just before sunset.

We ya e been visiting the area for years and never knew this existed! Other than parking, the house/display is awesome! There’s even 2 boats in the water with pirates in Them! If you peek over the wall, the outdoor bar has monkeys all over it! Definitely worth a quick stop.

So many wonderful restaurants and clean beaches. Being a pier ‘fan’ I enjoy this lovely olde wooden pier with it fantastic view of Santa Catalina Island and behind me the snow covered San Bernardino mountains.

Came here to see where the "Duke" was buried. Nice people that gave us a map and the location of his grave site. For many years his grave did not have a plaque because of some people not liking his views. John has a great view and is still liked and loved by many

Newport Beach Pier

This pier still doesn’t have a restaurant at the end of it, but the walk is entertaining. All ages venture down this pier. I love to watch the fishermen catch fish. At this time of year, when the waves are good, surfers catch waves. Some of these surfers are beginners while others seem professional. There are several restaurants near the pier. Dory Fishing boats go out to fish daily. They have a stand near the pier where fresh fish are sold. Often there are musicians who play music and sing in the square by the pier.
