New York State has it all – booming metropolises, majestic waterfalls, mountains, wine country, chicken wings. Yes, NYC is a magnet for tourists, but an exploration of the rest of the state can be equally thrilling. The Finger Lakes Wine Region is a vision of serene waters, quaint B&Bs, and pretty vineyards. Movie buffs will love Rochester, home of the George Eastman House and one of the world’s most comprehensive film archives. On your way to Niagara Falls, stop in Buffalo to fuel up on spicy wings.

Nitehawk Cinema - Williamsburg

Nitehawk Cinema is New York’s premier dine-in theater, pairing exemplary first-run and repertory film programming along with tableside food and beverage service. Nitehawk strives to enhance the cinematic experience with a creative framework by providing a specialty menu with fresh, local ingredients inspired by the films we love; archival 35mm projection; and special guest Q&As. Every month, we offer several Signature Series programs each concentrating on a different corner filmdom including new work from New York filmmakers (Local Color), grindhouse oddities (The Deuce) or country bands paired country movies (Country Brunchin’). Our weekend brunch and midnite repertory screenings span a wide range of films, from 35mm rarities to new independent features. Each of our screenings begin with a house-made thirty-minute “pre-show” filled with content inspired by the film.

Love this quirky little theater! Tables are for 2 and waiters are very attentive and quick about serving drinks and food. We had wine, beer and a bowl of Nighthawk popcorn ($9 for a relatively small bowl). I read other reviews that said waiters were in the way, but ours moved so quickly and ducked down low so were never obtrusive. It must be a real workout to be a server there! The setting felt different and fun - like we had discovered a hidden gem in the middle of Brooklyn. We will definitely be back!

I have been many times through the years, and last night was just as enjoyable. I sat with a very nice couple, right at the edge of the stage border, so you really felt a part of the action. I would have to say, their salmon entree is the nicest salmon you can get in this area, such a nice sauce and all the sides were great too, and nice cheesecake for dessert. The servers are attentive (the tip is included in the meal and theatre ticket). I used to bring my 2 sisters every summer as they both have summer birthdays, and at our age you don't need more "Things", so this trip made a good gift. The theatre is intimate, and often a bus will come. especially for the matinees.

Saw their production of Barefoot in the Park and loved every minute of it! Some laugh out loud moments and some ‘you could hear a pin drop’ moments. Food was delicious and well presented. Service was great. Family took me hear for my birthday celebration and what a wonderful time we had.
