Things to do in New York City, New York (NY): The Best Gardens

September 12, 2021 Alida England

Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

Winter Garden

Reviewed By BayRidgeGal - Brooklyn, United States

My friends and I met at the big steps in Brookfield Place, formerly called Winter Garden. It's a lovely quiet place to relax, with sky high palm trees and mixed marble floors. There are resraurants along the upper level. In winter, there's an iceskating rink outside. In summer, there is a tennis court there. You can reach it through the underground pass from the Oculus, or outside by passing the 9/11 memorial and then crossing West St. Take a stroll outside along the water in sunny weather.

Elevated Acre

Reviewed By DBags - Olney, United States

What a great place to take a look at the Brooklyn skyline from across the river. Views of the Brooklyn Bridge ant the Watchtower Building are one of many pics you can take. It was also cool seeing all the private helicopters fly in and out of the Financial District. I can’t believe there are only two reviews of this hidden gem.
