Isel House

Reviewed By 60stravellers2014 - Tauranga, New Zealand

We had a lovely visit to Isel House. The house was lovely & the grounds were beautiful. We even met up with a volunteer that we had gone to school with 65yrs ago. He advised us about the night market, so we went back that evening, looked around the stalls & enjoyed a varied dinner. Would certainly recomment.

Broadgreen Historic House

Reviewed By Lisa_SKiwi - Devonport, New Zealand

Really enjoyed visiting the cottage. It is a 2 storey house made of cob and well presented. The fittings and furnishings are typical Victorian era so expect it to be cluttered, darker and heavier on the eye in terms of decor. The tour guide was really informative and helpful and helped to bring the house and its inhabitants to life. Great to see what a working home would have been like especially with the dairy and the large kitchen. Recommended for historic buffs!

This is a must-see when cruising the coast of Abel Tasman National Park. All the commercial cruise boats head here, but they take turns getting close, so everyone has a chance to take that perfect picture.

Wreck of the Janie Seddon

I was amazed at how small this vessel was for the type of work that it did, and how brave were the people who worked on it. It is humbling to get a glimpse into the past to understand how people made their living many years ago, and appreciate how good we have life in New Zealand now.

Motueka Quay

Reviewed By Glenaven - Christchurch, New Zealand

We visit frequently & every time nature provides something different. The sand spit is where the famous Godwits visit every year. Other special NZ birds nest out there as well. From Motueka Quay you can observe the changing of the tides. It has s a peaceful place to park up & enjoy lunch or just relax with plentiful parking all along. There are shade options in summer. This is an often missed aspect of a wonderful NZ town. Recommended.
