Was shopping in the outlet mall and came across Smith Creek, first off its a totally free tasting of 12 different shines. They were really good and have some amazing flavors strawberry shortcake, sweet tea, butter cake, coffee, lemon lime (tasted like a margarita). They have a large souvenir store and give you a free shot glass with a shine purchase. It was worth stopping by while we were shopping.

Nashville Craft Distillery

We opted to visit a smaller whiskey distillery as many of the bigger ones seem over-priced and we thought they would be more likely to be busy; I think this was a good decision. The day we visited was a cold, winters day, out-of-season, and when we arrived for the 12pm tour it was just the two of us (although there was supposed to be a tour group joining, however they were late). Therefore we enjoyed a one-on-one conversation with the bar tender about thier products etc. and he was very friendly (unfortunately I can't remember his name) and we got to try 3 of their own whiskies (I recommend the Honey Spice liquor) and a cocktail which was probably the best drink of all. The bar area is small but of course being the only ones there this wasn't a problem. We then proceeded to the tour of the facility, again just the two of us so it was a very nice personal experience. Despite the distillery being somewhat small (the tour takes place in about over about 10m^2 of area, it was still very detailed, including good scientific explanation that clearly explained the processes involved, but equally was not confusing even for those with little scientific background), and it covered everything you would want to know about distilling without being boring or dull at any point; Rachael took our tour and she was awesome! As far as value for money goes it was definitely worth it, we got the tour, 3 samples and a cocktail for $13. Overall, we spent about an hour there and we thoroughly enjoyed it, I will certainly be recommending Nashville Craft to any family or friends who decide to visit Nashville!

Diskin Cider

Diskin Cider is proud to be Nashville and Middle Tennessee’s first commercial craft cidery, bringing true craft cider to Tennessee and the South. Bridging the gap between wine and beer, Diskin Cider’s fresh, flavorful, small-batch ciders break the mold of overly sweet cider with the natural flavor of fresh pressed apples. Diskin not only provides a variety of cider options, but local beers and homemade cocktails as well an an elevated food menu including Sunday brunch.

I have been to Diskin multiple times after stumbling upon it a couple of years ago. Great cider, great service and staff. I went to the drag brunch this past weekend and it was AMAZING. The show was fabulous. Also Diskin was so thoughtful in the set up and execution of this event. Diskin is definitely a must go if you are looking for a great atmosphere and great cider.

Prichard's Distillery

Prichard's Distillery opened their first distillery in 1999 in the historic Kelso Tennessee schoolhouse. This is our second distillery at Fontanel, one of Nashville’s premier destinations. The new Prichard’s production facility is adjacent to the log cabin tasting center and includes a 400-gallon Alembic copper still custom-designed by Vendome Copper and Brassworks in the style of French cognac. It is the first still of its kind in Tennessee, and using many of the same quality ingredients and centuries-old techniques handed down over five generations of the Prichard’s family, will produce Tennessee Whiskey and an excellent selection of American Rum. This 186 acre property was formerly owned by Country Music Hall of Fame member Barbara Mandrell, and has developed to include tours of the former Mandrell mansion, dining, lodging, shopping and outdoor activities like ziplines, live concerts, and hiking trails. Prichard’s Distillery adds a unique touch to the Fontanel guest experience

I checked off another TN distillery on the TN Whiskey Trail this week finally checking out this gem in Nashville. Very easy to get to location in West Nashville. Our guide, Chris was great and fun sharing details of the family behind the distillery as well as the process for their various spirits including Tennessee whiskey, bourbon, and vodkas to name a few. Tasting was great with many options to choose from. Great way to spend an hour while in Nashville.
