Things to do in Napier, North Island: The Best Wine Tours & Tastings

If you like Art Deco architecture, you must visit Napier. The town was completely destroyed by an earthquake in 1931, then completely rebuilt in gorgeous Art Deco style. A number of local wineries also offer tours and tastings.

Ross has been an awesome companion (yes, he was not just our driver and tour guide that arvo). He definitely knows what he is doing and it shows his passion and heart are put on to it. When I asked him about the history of one of the vineyards there (Marist), I was impressed about his knowledge of it. It made me even more curious since I found a link between that vineyard and the school I came from which was also started by the same Marist brothers. Love the personal touch with the cheese platter and wine in a hidden gem in Hawkes bay. If you're thinking of doing an activity while you are in Napier, definitely consider Ross and put it on your to do list. Thanks for the awesome time, Ross! =)

We did a vintage car tour. It was 1 hour in a lovely old car called buttercup. We loved it. I booked it because my 87 year old Dad came to visit us in Napier. I’m not sure who enjoyed it more my 87 year old Dad or my 12 year old Son. Definitely recommend this trip.

We hired a bus for a half day group tour of a couple of wineries, a brewery and a cider house for a family re-union. Mark our driver was super helpful and accommodating, encouraging us to have a great time, and putting up with our singing (which got progressively better of course...) and our ditty's! Everyone had a fantastic day out and raved about it afterwards.

My Wife and I decided to come on down to Queenstown for our wedding anniversary and thus far it has been incredible. For our anniversary dinner we decided to go and enjoy it up the Gondola and enjoy the buffet dinner even paid an extra $20 for the premium experience which gives us a window view 2 complimentary drinks and sparkling water well, what a waste of money the food was not at all what people made it out to be, maybe we went on the wrong or ?. The vegetables were all under done if your into under done vegetables then this is the place to be but in my opinion it was terrible and we wont be returning back to this restaurant again.
