September 23, 2021 Giuseppe Pratt

Getting sick on vacation is a major drag, but if you have to be under the weather, Montpellier is an ideal place to do it. People have studied medicine here for centuries—the Moors established medical schools in the 9th century, and the Université Montpellier’s school of medicine was founded in 1220. Once the local docs give you a clean bill of health, explore the cathedral, mansions and opera house.

Together, we will explore the terroir, the wine, and the gastronomy of course, but also the less noticeable details, the little things that make this place so special to me. I also design, produce and host custom events in domains around Montpellier.

Chateau de l'Engarran

On the outskirts of Montpellier, the Chateau forms a cohesive whole with its French formal park and the 60 hectares of vines that surround it. All the architectural details of this 18th-century “Folly” (Monuments Historiques) point to the domain’s wine-growing role and its dedication to women and love, often reflected in the labels on each cuvee, which show the wines’ historical ties.
