Heritage Museum

In the museum, opened back in the mid-twentieth century, it is possible to see historical, ethnographic and archaeological collections of objects. A particular place is reserved for the gallery named after a painter from Herceg Novi Josip Bepo Benkovic, where expositions of works of foreign and Montenegrin artists are organised during the whole year.

Museum of King Nikola

When in Cetinje, which is the old capital of Montenegro, we visited the Museum of King Nicola in the main square. It's has a nice spacious entrance & as you enter each of the rooms it gets more & more interesting. There are fabulous artifacts & antiques which are so perfectly preserved, & many gifts which were gifted to the royal family on display with really interesting stories attached. It was really a pleasure to see this lovely palace (which is not too big) in such perfect condition & beautifully preserved, with so much interesting history attached.

Perast Museum

This museum is located in one of the most beautiful buildings of Perast, the Bujovic Palace. A magnificent 18th century palace with an imposing porch consisting of five arcades and beautiful terraces with stone balusters is one of the most beautiful baroque edifices on the Adriatic Coast. Numerous exhibits, documents and paintings presented in several exhibitions are witnesses of the tumultuous and rich history of Perast, from its establishment through the rule of the Republic of Venice to the rule of France and Austria-Hungary in the area.

My favorite building in Perast. The stuff who work in museum are really working hard to maintain it and they will tell you everything you want to know about the history of Perast. Some very nice armory collection, paintings, ship models, furniture and so on... Also they allow you to get on the balcony where I think the best photos are being made

James Hingston Tuckey (1776-1816) was a naval captain-scientist from Great Britain, author of important geographical books, including "Maritime geography and statistics". In that book, which was published in London in 1815, Tuckey, among other things, states that "Dolcigno is a town of 6,000 inhabitants who are considered among the greatest pirates of the Mediterranean."
