We realy enjoyed our tour through the museum. It was a pleasure to be guided through the history of printing by the young lady. At first we just wanted to see the huge machine. We needed to buy a ticket which seemed to be a little bit high of the price at first. But we did not know, that we are going to get a 2hour+ private tour! It was absolutely awesome! If you enjoy technic in general and like old fashioned machine, you defintiely need to give it try! If we recall correcty they were creating a little cafe in Dez 2019. Hopefully this is finished already and can be visited for a nice coffee...

This really is a wonderful piece of architectural history. It is a beautiful house of a rich family, that gives you an excellent insight to the recent past. Great pictures and furniture.

You will probably stumble onto Dutch Square while in the old city of Melaka. It seems to be the place to be. And that's part of the appeal. I recommend going there at night and during the day. At night it's full of garishly lit tuk tuks blaring loud music carrying smiling tourist. It seems like everyone is having a great time. In the day it's still full of people, but it's less hectic. There are a lot of museums in the area that are worth ducking into to learn more about the history of Melaka. And the buildings are beautiful to look at. It's a worthwhile place to visit.

Clean, cool and more interesting than I thought. Excellent museum by the river with free entry. Some great exhibits of contraband from drugs to sex toys, I can't express how good this place was, an eccentric one topic museum with excellent exhibits.

Melaka History and Ethnography Museum is housed in Stadthuys, an oleh Dutch VOC building build around the year 1650s. The History Museum contain exhibits on the founding of Melaka and dioramas about the city during the Portuguese, Dutch and British period. There is a free guided tour of the History Museum every Saturday and Sunday at 10.30am and 2.30pm. The guided tour is in English.
