7. The Minor Basilica of the Visitation of the Holy Virgin Mary
The Minor Basilica of the Visitation of the Holy Virgin Mary in town of Kalvarija was built, demolished, rebuilt and demolished again; thus, the present structure is the 4th church to be built in the same place. The basilica was built according to the architectural plans of A. Kosakauskas. The building began in 1780 with funds from the contributions of the faithful, and was completed in 1822.
