IIf you are interested in this subject, than is the best place to enter in a somber world of the crimes of the communist regim. Schedule at least 3 hours for this visit, because there are lots of informations to see, read and listen.

If you've read Elie Weisel you will immediately be moved to be in the at which he was born and spent his early years. Read "All Rivers Run to the Sea" before you visit for background information. The docent, Alex, was excellent. So sad that Jewish history in Romania is not well known. This small house contains a lot of information and is arranged as it was before WWII when a thriving Jewish population lived in Sigheti. Highly recommend.

Unexpectedly beautiful! Wooden and earth houses a few centuries old, from different corners of Maramures county. Small entrance fee (around 3 euros) and there is also a guiding app available (both in Romanian in English) which describes the architecture and history brilliantly. Worth a visit!
