My wife and I spent two weeks in Malawi from the 12th February 2019 until the 26th February. After discovering that car hire in Malawi is horrifically expensive and that public transport is so unreliable, we decided to use a taxi service to transport us around Malawi. After requesting a number of quotes from various taxi comapnies we decided on Andrew from Anaka Taxis in Lilongwe; it was the best decision we made as it eliminated all the stress out of getting us to our various destinations as well as not having to negotiate the the poor road conditions ourselves. To call Andrew a taxi driver would be an insult to him, he was so much more than that. Andrew has an immense knowledge about Malawi and is very happy to share that knowledge as well as make suggestions of what to do and see in the various places that we visited. He has a very kind demeanour and is extremely friendly and obliging. Andrew collected us from Lilongwe and drove us to Monkey Bay where we spent four days. Thereafter we went to Cape Maclear for two days, then Zomba, Mount Mulanje, Blantyre and back to Lilongwe and finally to the airport to fly home. Andrew, found his own accommodation in the various places and was always on call to do day excusions for us. In short it was a pleasure to have him as our tour guide come driver for the time we spent in Malawi and we have no hesitation in recommending Andrew to anyone wishing to travel in Malawi. Prior to arriving we agreed a fixed price for the duration of our trip and Andrew's price was very reasonable. Since one is not allowed to give email addresses and phone numbers in these reviews; if you google Anaka Taxis in Malawi, you will easily get his contact details. John Morgan Cape town South Africa
