Things to do in Madrid, Community of Madrid: The Best Shopping Malls

August 27, 2021 Toi Mattera

So many of Madrid’s buildings look like castles, you’ll think you’ve stumbled into a fairytale. Even City Hall is astounding, with its white pinnacles and neo-Gothic features. A self-guided architecture tour can begin by the great bear statue in the central Puerta del Sol. Wander by the fanciful Royal Palace before absorbing the natural beauty of Retiro Park, then visit one of the city’s many museums. You could happily cap off each day by nibbling on forkfuls of paella while sipping Spanish rioja.

Centro Comercial La Vaguada

La Vaguada was inaugurated in 1983. It was the first shopping centre in the Community of Madrid. This led to it being considered “The Heart of Madrid”, along with its perfect location, since it is located in the centre of the city, right in the El Pilar neighbourhood. It has an area of 85,000 m2 over 3 commercial floors and 2 floors of parking with 3,600 available spaces. Together with its varied and complete commercial and recreational offering, this allows it to receive more than 5 million visitors every year. From the beginning, the shopping centre has worked continuously for on-going renewal to be able to meet the expectations of visitors, while remaining in the lead in changing times, without losing at any time the essence of its history.
