OMG!!! Was in LA for the weekend for work and was looking for fun things to do in the area and just randomly stumbled upon this place!! When do you normally just see giant domes lying around LA!? Lol had to come see what the deal was and wow! Packed with trippy/psychedelic art if you’re into that kind of stuff and the ending movie was incredible. Almost had to take a break because it was so intense!!! You lay down and get to see this whole 360 thing as if you’re there live in action. Craziness!

The LA flower market is a joy to walk around. There is easy parking and Poppy and Rose is a wonderful organic restaurant for breakfast or lunch right opposite. The vendors are friendly and helpful and if you need flowers for an event you can check out my daughter, Tayah Howard at @orignelsewhere she does events and runs floral workshops for group of friends.

For a nice day out in LA, pop on over to the Grove. It has a variety of lovely stores, some amazing restaurants of all levels, a nice path to walk and plenty of parking. From Cheesecake Factory to my favorite Kitchen store, Sur La Table, a massive Apple store, Crate and Barrel and so much more there's something for everyone to find. It's a typical tourist spot - but also mixed with many locals who are after a contained area that has loads to offer. And right next door - attached actually is the world famous Farmer's Market. Now this is very popular with all the locals and still brings in the tourists. Everyone who visits LA wants to see some of the typical spots and this checks all the boxes. Over the years I have spotted the occasional well know actor which is always fun. I recommend a couple hours here at least, and it's always a great spot to return to for dinner. Particularly lovely on a warm night.

If you visit this iconic facility on the weekend parking is free. Hard to imagine but it is TRUE. The photograph exhibits change throughout the year and admission is free. A bonus beyond belief. The exhibits are interactive, a video recaps the subject matter and the photographs are beautifully displayed plus the narrative is enlightening and powerful. Don’t go solo because you will want to share your experience with someone. And across the street at the Plaza are dozen of restaurants and eateries.

Hollywood Farmers Market

This is a great spot for locals to shop every Sunday morning. The second oldest farmers market in LA County, I personally think it’s the best one bar none. Four full city blocks of fresh baked breads, an astounding array of organic fruits, vegetables, legumes, dairy and meat products, plus a wild array of crafts. Some of the best buskers as well playing everything from bluegrass to jazz. Great people watching. Great place to come for breakfast or lunch. A place where you get to know your farmer as well as your neighbors!

Located at the basement of a building, murals of sea life while descending the stairs a perfect photo op. Doorman volunteered to take photos upon entering. Overhead an aquarium full of fishes starts at the bottom of the stairs all the way at the other end of the room. We sat at the bar and ordered the drink Otonano Amasa served in a bird shape glass with toasted marshmallows at the rear. This drink ,which name means Sweetness in adults, is delish another round is a must. The Farmers Market Tempura remains crunchy even after it cooled off. The sauce was to die for. My friend has the California 11 and Pork Gyoza. I taste the Gyoza it found it pretty good. But that marshmallows I just need to have another that I ask for another piece and was given several. It's chewy with a filling inside. Bar tender kept us entertained with friendly, funny banter. Our waitress even ask if we want our pictures taken and made suggestions for a good backdrop. I would suggest reservations at least a week in advance. Parking is expensive around the resto but you can park at a structure next to Biltmore Hotel for $6.50 till 10:30pm. Limited street parking free on Saturdays and Sundays at 515 S Olive St. which is a 2 -3 min walk. You can see the building where the restaurant is located from this spot. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, drink, ambience, staff and service of this venue. I highly recommend and would definitely be back.

I spend at least 2 to 3 hours in the Sherman oaks antique mall every year when I come to visit my son. The managers are fun, friendly, and always willing to open a locked case or answer a question. They makes the rounds of the mall to check on their customers routinely, so I never have to go looking for them when I need help. The mall has a great variety of antiques in a large price range, and many of the vendors have sales. So I never leave empty-handed. Even the individual vendors are friendly and talkative. The merchandise ranges from jewelry, to vintage clothing, to fine antique art glass and crystal, to porcelain and pottery. I highly recommend it.
