We had a recent cruise stop in Lima and, since we had seen the downtown area during a previous visit, decided to visit this park. It was a short walk from Plaza San Miguel where the cruise shuttles dropped us off so very convenient. If you are over 60, admission is free. The zoo houses lots of animals from all over the world--the collection is very impressive. Some of the enclosures were less adequate than others but the animals seemed healthy. My only complaint is that it is hard to take pictures through the dirty plexiglass. There is also a butterfly house, boat rides, botanical gardens, ruins, and a playgrounds and amusement park area for the kids. We considered our visit to be well worth our time.
