My wife and I recently took our four year old Granddaughter to Freeman’s Mill Park. This was our first visit to the park. This beautiful 12 acre park sits along the banks of the Alcovy River. It was a sunny day so we walked on the paved 0.5 mile multi-use paved loop trail which runs beside the river (Dog friendly but must be on a leash). We followed it down to the historic 19th century Freeman’s grist mill. We saw the waterfall and she was fascinated to hear how the water from the river was used to power the old grist mill. Later she really enjoyed playing with the other kids on the unique playground that replicates the gristmill. There is a pavilion with picnic tables, water fountain, and restrooms close by. The park is safe, clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking; Open daily sunrise until sunset. BTW....The Mill is still in the restoration process.
