Things to do in La Paz, La Paz Department: The Best Bus Transportation

December 15, 2021 Marianna Hollaway

Sitting in a valley in the Andes Mountains, La Paz is the city that touches the clouds. The de facto capital of Bolivia, and sitting between 3300 and 4100 meters above sea level, La Paz is the highest capital city in the world. Rich with 19th century churches, museums of artifacts from the pre-Conquest era, precarious overlooks, and colorful markets, La Paz is truly unique. The Witches’ Market, in the center of the city, sells charms and potions for Aymara rituals, as well as souvenirs.

Excellent journeys to and from Uyuni. We paid an extra few dollars to get the VIP seats on the ground floor and it is definitely worth it for the extra comfort. You get an evening meal with glass of wine and a breakfast (small sandwich and juice). The journey seems designed to get you their for the start of salt tours and pick you up a couple hours after they finish. Absolutely no issues whatsoever and I'd happily use them again.
