Fantastic! And we were lucky - only us to had signed up for this class. So they had all the time to teach us! But don’t think you have to worry, cause they have several teacher when more students :-) outside cooking put even in hot weather the place was shaded and cool- and that’s nice when you’re cooking with open flames! :-D we choose to cook: chicken satays with peanut sauce, Golden bags with chicken and prawn w. Tasty Thai sauce, steamed fish fillet with lime and chilli and Stir fried chicken, sweet and sour! And is was so fun! Most of the cooking we did or self’s! And Lanta Thai were so great at teaching this away. Loved it! Thank you so much for an entertaining, fun and educational afternoon together with you!

There are some great veggie options on Koh Lanta, but nothing comes close to the delicious vegan burger at Time for Lime. The perfect balance of great texture and tasty. Best enjoyed while supping a cocktail and watching the sun set over the beach. Personal favourites - mojitos, lemongrass margaritas, amaretto sours. The cooking school is also great fun My partner participated with the other men in the New Year’s Eve Naked Chef event while the ladies took the cocktail class. Highly recommended.

We had a really great cooking course with Sandy and would recommend her course to anybody interested in learning how to make delicious and refined Thai dishes. It was just me and my partner and we chose to cook the following dishes: Pad Thai, Chicken Basil, Panang Prawn and Mango Sticky Rice. Sandy would first demonstrate how to cook a particular dish and then we would try to cook it ourselves. She tried to teach us to not strictly adhere to ingredient amounts but to go by taste, although it would have been nice to have the recipes printed out. I have to honestly say that the food we cooked with Sandy was the best we had on our three week Thailand trip! Her kitchen was very nice and her English is very good so that we could have interesting chats.

Cooking with Mon

Cook like a local and eat like a local, with the knowledgeable and charismatic Mon. Classes are small, maximum 6 students, and together you design your favorite menu. Cooking with Mon is for everyone, young and old and even people who are not into cooking rate Cooking with Mon as one of the highlights of their holiday. You are not just cooking, you are spending a wonderful day with friends eating and having fun and without even noticing, you also learn a lot. Class is also very suitable for vegetarian, vegans and older children (from +/- 8 years). Classes cost 1500 baht per person and you will be cooking everything from scratch. Mon will introduce you to all the herbs, spices and Thai flavours. He doesn't just introduce you to a recipe but helps you develop 'a feeling' for Thai food. You will prepare three of your own favourite dishes, the way you like it (but of course Mon will always try to push you to add more chillies...) and finish the day with an additional delicious Thai dessert. We start the day at 11 am and cook until we are done, between 3-5 pm, depends on the dishes. At the end of the class you will receive a pdf file with all the recipes Mon has ever taught, so you can continue to experiment with Thai food back home. We are located in a little fisherman village south of the pier in Old Town. You will have a real authentic local experience surrounded by playing children, chicken and fishermen.

What a great experience! First we went to the local market and learned a lot about fruits, herbs and spices - a lot of tasting included (Durian as well). Later Chef Akkapak told us how to cook (and eat) real Thai food. I really recommend the class, we had a lot of fun, it was very professional and everybody enjoyed it (party of seven, two familys, aged 16 to 60+), dinner-market-course). Akkapak loves, what he’s doing. You can feel it every minute. Stay happy, all the best for you, chef!!! We‘ll be back.

Roi Thai Cooking School

We had so much fun cooking with Pum ( the chef) ;) We were cooking with another couple so in total 4 persons. Definitively one of the best experiences we have had in a restaurant. Back story: We were on the scooters, driving away from the rain and eventually it caught us up and we reached the Roi Thai soaking wet and cold. The manager, knowing we got there for the cooking class got us hot towels, hot tea and even brought us their private shirts so they could dry and IRON ours while we learn how to cook with the chef! We were amazed and so thankful for the hospitality and care. The cooking class was 5 dishes, each and every different and delicious. We made chicken satay with peanut paste, minced chicken salad in lime sauce, tom yum soup, barracuda and red curry paste. At the end we received a book with recepies.
