Awesome walk, started in Manly street and did loop around swing bridge only took 2 hrs including stops for photos. Lots to see whitebaiters and horse trekkers.Crossed 2 bridges and good to see more planting of natives. Good shot of Kapiti Island from beach entered on Manly street. Lots driftwood great for bbq’s. Also toilets half way on track and plenty places to stop and rest if need be.

These walks are filled with unexpected sights and views. You can go far along the river on a bicycle or for a more short walk looking at birds. All sorts of things to do.

Paekakariki Escarpment Walkway

Reviewed By charlotteh962 - Wellington, New Zealand

We walked Pukerua Bay to Paekakariki - there were a couple of steep stair climbs but we didnt rush it and it seemed easier to do those and then wind down the path to Paekakariki than the other way. Also there is a great cafe with delicious pizzas at the Paekakariki end. Our group ranged from 11yrs to 78yrs and we took just under 4 hours which included many stops to take in the awesome views.

Parata Walking Track

Steady uphill for fit walkers of about 25-30 minutes. Beautiful bush. Can be slippery coming down. About an hour return and nice and handy to Kapiti Coast locals.
