In old times, from the end of Edo-Jidai to Meiji-jidai, there was a family called Kubo-ke(house). The host of this family was one of the most influential powerful owners that had Kitamae-bune*(ship). The host of the sixth generation, Hikobe had his house built on the hill in Hashidate－machi, Kaga-shi. It is said that the house was so big and magnificent that tonosama(the lord) of Daishoji used to visit the house. One part of Hikobe’s main house was moved and rebuilt here. This is the house.
