In the late 1950s, amid a dramatic landscape of eroded sandstone pillars, archaeologists unearthed one of the most significant Stone Age finds ever identified. Tools found at the site – hammerstones, axeheads, flints and scrapers – are estimated to be between 60,000 and 100,000 years old. There’s a museum with small, well-captioned displays highlighting some of the discoveries. Isimila is signposted off the Mbeya road to the left, about 21km southwest of Iringa.

What a fabulous trip! I booked this safari for my birthday at the suggestion of a friend and was well-rewarded for my decision to go with Wild Gaze. Ernest Lugala knows his stuff. He was courteous and professional and took care of the smallest details. We had to delay the start of the trip by two days, but he was able to rearrange the schedule and rebook our accomodations so that I still got to do everything on the original itinerary. Then I decided to add a hot-air balloon ride over the Serengeti, and he negotiated a discount for me. He even arranged to have a birthday celebration for me with a delicious dinner and cake in the bush. It was the most memorable birthday of my life. I would have no hesitation booking another safari with him when the time comes.

My wife and I booked a 2 days trip with Zepisa African Safaris and had an enjoyable time in Ruaha National park. They designed our trip to include all our desired locations and being a private safari Nyemo our guide concentrated his efforts on our wishes. We were pleased with the accommodation arrangements that Zepisa made for us. Nyemo showed different types of animals in the parks and also took us to visit a Maasai Boma in Tungamalenga village. We were truly impressed by our trip to Tanzania and thank Zepisa African safaris for putting everything together so well.

Ernest managed a very complicated trip for us. He was an excellent interpreter and ambassador for us on a demanding social outreach portion of our trip and he also served as an amazing guide in the Kizungu NP in eastern Tanzania. I count Ernest as a friend and would recommend him highly.

After shopping around the countless Safari Offices in Iringa I found Rubaba to offer the best deal compared to the competition. Entrance fees, 3 meals per day, water, accomodation and transport were all included in the price. I just had to pay for the optional drinks in the restaurants. The guide Goodluck picked me up from my place in Iringa with a Landcruiser in good condition. Together we had 7 game drives in Ruaha and saw every big animal I wanted to see except from the leopard. We stopped while beeing in close proximity to the animals and it was my call on how long we stayed and observed them. He told me many facts about the mammals and also about many of the different bird species we came across. Emima, the owner of Rubaba, borrowed me her Nikon camera with a zoom lense so I was able to take great pictures. I stayed in a Bungalow in the Park (Bandas) that was very secure yet open, so I heard and saw a few hippos and elefants at night. On the way back to Iringa we stopped in Kalenga for a quick visit of the Mkwawa grave without any additional costs (except the Entrance fee for the muesum).

We are very happy to come to Tanzania for safari with Luna company especially because 4-days trip have been organised as promises. At the beginning Victoria told us - don’t worry, we are professionals and will provide to you the best services and trip program. I could confirm, they are! We did not spend to much our time for preparation to safari and searching information, everything have been provided! Our guide Róman was very pleasant, professional and with European mindset. It was very easy to communicate. We saw a lot of animals, including lines, cheetah and rhino. Additionally would like to say that landscape at Ngorongoro crater is amazing for super beautiful photos! Except safari, Luna helps to organise a one - day trip to Kilimanjaro at 3400 m????. Thank you Nastia and Victoria for your support and 24/7 availability for us and all other questions! Despite the fact that you can view all the animals of the popular Serengeti and Ngorongoro, Ruaha is visited less often. Experience the peace with the nature, seeing only a handful of other cars per day.

We were met by Rajipa David of Bateleur tours once we reached Iringa , they are a small but very professional tour operators and made a follow up to the smallest details , Rajipa suggested us a night safari too which will be in our memories for a very long time , very knoweledgeable and experienced staff , driver and guide ,he always made sure we get the maximum game viewing, he will be available even late at night if needed , we had a very hassle free experience with this company from day 1 upto the end of our tour . We definitely recommend this company .
