Leila's Hair Museum

What's so unusual about this museum that displays antique jewelry and pictures? All items are made of human hair and are authentic antiques at least one hundred years old.

We went sept 2019 and it was a lot of fun! There is so much history in there and new things to learn about. It’s a must see to stop in there!!

Harry S. Truman Library and Museum

Stopped here while passing through Independence, Missouri. Found the collection of documents and objects from the life of President Truman to be truly outstanding, giving great insights into every phase of his life. His tomb is also on site in the building's courtyard. Highly recommend spending a couple hours here for anyone interested in American history.

The station has been restored beautifully and is packed with artifacts. Our tour guide is a train-lover and a wealth of information about trains and train history in general as well as the specific history of this station.

Jail, Marshal's Home & Museum

Jail built in 1859, and operated as a county jail until 1933. The infamous Frank James was incarcerated here. Learn about the evolution of justice on the Missouri frontier.

Being from Missouri l am a history buff . The tour was interesting and informative. Learned a few new things which is always good. Not many know this but Frank James is buried in a city park just down the road. His stone says Alexander Franklin James. (Frank)

Come tour the Historic Truman Courthouse, which was originally built in 1838. See where Harry S Truman began his political career! Tours given Tuesday-Friday at 11AM and 2PM. Groups larger than 10 should reserve a tour in advance.
