A favorite getaway for Bangkok residents, Hua Hin is a pretty beachside town. Family friendly and relaxed, it lacks the all-night partying and seedier aspects that make other nearby beach resorts a haven for unsavory characters. Once a small fishing village, it was transformed into a royal resort, and it’s these close links with Thai royalty that ensure Hua Hin won’t become overdeveloped or lose its small-town vibe.

Loved it. Was great to see so many monkeys. They were adorable. It's been the highlight of our trip to Thailand for the kids, so much so they want to go back. It's free and is a great drive through a fishing village to get there. There is a Buddhist temple there also. You can pay 100 baht for some one to feed the monkeys for you. The views are great over Hua Hin. A must do if you love monkeys.

This cave is seemingly nearly abandoned although there was a person who turned on the lights for us at the request of our concierge prior to leaving the hotel for the visit. (HIGHLY RECOMMEND HAVING SOMEONE CALL FIRST) There are religious shrines inside this cave and they also have backlit the beautiful stalagtites and stalagmites as well as other beautiful rock features. It is such a unique experience. We could not stop saying, “wow!!” Outside, there is a giant gold statue on top of the building and AS BIG as the building! There were leaves all over and the parking lot was run down. We had an all day driver with us, and I would not recommend ubering or taxiing here. You will not be able to find a ride home. Well worth your while! A nice glass of wine at the nearby vineyard is a nice way to finish up!

Soi Bintabaht Walking Street is essentially a street full of bars, snack sellers and hawkers trying to flog you Man Utd posters or other cheap tack. However, it is a great place to watch sports on the telebox, natter away to friends, play pool (billiards to some), engage in mindless conversation with strangers and watch people amble by. Yes, it is a girly bar area, but everyone is friendly enough, apart from the lady who wanted to rearrange my downstairs forest, but even she was joking. I hope. There are plenty of sidestreets and ginnels, each offering similar bars or slightly more classy food restaurants. It is very friendly and it is easy to forget that some people aren't lucky enough to be high-power bankers or run cruise liners. Here the bar staff and friendly strangers can be the most down to earth and real that you can find. Be careful of the scissors though. Snip, snip. I wouldn't mind but I'm not overly hairy...

Wish we had visited earlier as there is a lovely restaurant up here with a great view of Hua Hin. There is also a temple aro it is their home so can't mark this place down because of that. There are little shops also and if you come down the other side there are fishing boats. Worth a little visit
