Amazing Falls - best seen after a rain fall though, we had a huge dumping of rain and it was great to see the full force of Mother Nature in action, the fall was powerful and fabulous to see - easy to find - can even be see from the drive over the bridge - there is a walk on the opposite side of the road to do too - there is a parking area. Would recommend if you are passing and it has rained - a lovey road to cycle to the falls if you like biking.

After the Eel feedings you can see the Kiwi being feed. view the tuatara, New Zealands oldest living dinosaur. Try your hand at catch and release crawly fishing fun for all ages . We have lots of other fish and creatures to look at. And it's all inside so no getting wet on that rainy day

We loved this place. From the great guy at reception to the speaker at the eel feeding, they made us feel welcome and at home exploring this week presented little display. The kids loved feeding and touching the eels and catching the little koura on a line with a wee net... Then putting them straight back. Informative and fun hour spent there.

A short drive from Hokitika is the Treetops walk. Plenty of parking space. A walk to the cafe, shop and paying point where you receive an information brochure and then a walk along a path to enter the structure that takes you high above most of the trees. Great views. Amazing structure. More information available on the walkway. Interesting and enjoyable.
