Cloitre de la Cathedrale du Puy-en-Velay

The 11th and 12th century Romanesque cloister adjoins the Cathedral built between the end of the 11th and the end of the 12th century to accommodate the influx of pilgrims who frequented this famous site. It is remarkable for its capitals and the polychromy of its arches. The tour continues in the mâchicoulis building which houses a collection of religious art (11th to 18th century). Designated world heritage site by UNESCO. Open: > 15th May to 15th September: from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. > 16th September to 14th May: closed on Monday, open from 9.30 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Last admission 30 minutes before closing time. Closed: > 1st January, 1st May, 1st November, 11th November and 25th December.
