Monomoy Island Excursions

The seals of Monomoy are a rare treat seen close up from the shallow drafting seal watch vessel Perserverance. You will glide though narrow channels and into isolated lagoons where hundreds, sometimes thousands of Gray Seals swim and lay out along the shore. And you will spy sea birds and once in a while, the shadow of a great white shark passes by. Some of the best ocean fun adventure for your family.

Thus was a really lovely beach with soft sand and views out to the ocean. Only a small section is for the public but it was relatively quiet when we visited. It is definitely worth a stop. There is a stand with library books in it so you can read on while you are there

Red River Beach

Reviewed By jaseaton - Silver Spring, United States

So long as your reason for coming has nothing to do with the sunset, you'll be on heaven here: beautiful, fine sand...great water, enough breeze to keep the flies off and kites up in the sky...a smattering of gulls. And not too crowded. Wonderful! Parking during the day requires a permit or a $20 daily fee (might be $25), but if you come after 5pm you can get in without restriction.
