Taken over by the government and restored with bright gilt and lovely parquet floors, it’s used to show a silverware collection, and the current Golden Triangle exhibition of a silversmiths life and clients is excellent. Labelling in English, good value. The gardens, while free, are very French, all formal terraces and no flowers, so I’d not make a special visit just for them, but I did enjoy the house.
