Kalamunda Mountain Bike Circuit

Reviewed By SwiftoWA - Perth, Australia

I live just over an hour away from the circuit and this is the first time I had been. I went with my wife and a friend. We parked at the Camel farm. Great location, easy parking, there's a cafe and a bike shop. You can hire bikes, buy spares and they will help with repairs (as they did with us!) . We are beginners, we enjoyed the green trails and the blue. My wife is new to MTB and thought the Blue were the top end of her limit. There are hours of trails, well signposted in general although some of the maps on site are a bit vague, so keep Google Maps handy! We did 25km across a few hours and it was fantastic. I would really recommend to all comers and families. If you are comfortable with some trail riding (unsealed) and a single track) you will love it. If you are not, you will also love it.

This is a famous beach among surfers. Its waters are ideal for board riding, surfing, and bodyboarding, with high waves around the year. There is also a snorkeling beach in the area called “Mettam’s Pool”.

Made this our last last spot when cycling around Rottnest island. Spent the most time here after a long day of exploring. Good to spend some extended time on the nice beach, does get pretty popular sometimes but it's so nice. Great snorkeling and diving too at each end around the rocks.

City Beach

Reviewed By annettelaurie - Plymouth, United Kingdom

Its a fantastic beach for dog walkers, along most of it and for surfers with fabulous waves, although it can "dump" sometimes. It has lovely soft white sand and strong waves. There are plenty of open-air cafes and upscale, glass-fronted seafood restaurants overlooking the Indian Ocean from a striking modern complex centred on the landmark, ship-shaped City of Perth Surf Life Saving Club, all with lovely menus at really reasonable prices. Sunset always sees plenty of sunset-watchers. There is plenty of free parking all along the stretch of this lovely beach - one of our favourites - especially with views out to Rottnest Island.

Port Beach

Reviewed By 619jeffry - Essendon, Australia

In days gone by, we would pack our beah umbrella and Esky in our station wagon and head for Port Beach. We would have our picnic and then, after waiting half an hour, we would head for the water. Today Port Beach is much the same. The water is usually placid and it's a favourite picnic spot for young families. It's one of the best beaches in the Metro area. The beach gets a battering in the Indian Ocean's winter storms, but the new barrier seems to be working. It is in North Femantle, near the port, as the name implies. It's a great place to see the sun set in the West.
