Things to do in Great Barrier Reef, Queensland: The Best Health/Fitness Clubs & Gyms

June 7, 2021 Enedina Augsburger

The world's largest coral reef system, the Great Barrier Reef stretches almost 1500 miles into the Pacific from the tip of Queensland. Designated a Marine Park by the Australian government and a World Heritage Area by UNESCO, the reef is home to an extraordinary abundance of species and habitats. Snorkeling, diving and fishing are rightly popular along the reef, nowhere more so than on the Whitsunday Islands, where the silica sands and aqua waters of the Coral Sea create the perfect beach escape.

Intuitive Massage & Beauty Centre

Intuitive Massage started in 2010 when we had a vision of having a massage and healing centre, This is now a reality located across the road from Cannonvale Beach, Whitsundays. Our dream was to have therapist come into our centre and do what they love to do, massage, reiki, crystal healing and much more. we started out with just one reception area and one massage room, we have now four treatment rooms , one of them being a dual room. We have a garden room where you can sit and relax whislt looking over the ocean or have a pedicure or manicure whilst sipping on a glass of champagne. Our modality's range from all styles of massage from remedial, relaxation, myo facial, deep tissue, pregnancy and bowen therapy and body talk. We service all beauty needs from waxing, facials, body wraps and scrubs. we have created intuitive massage and healing centre a place where people walk in and can feel the amazing calmness straight away, so treatment has begun. we pride ourselves in taking good care of all our clients that come to see us, we want best results all the time. We are a centre that works intuitively with people, we treat the cause not the symptoms and when people walk out they comment on how different they feel.

Head down and try some rock wall climbing, it's great fun for all ages. They hold climb-fit, aerial silk, yoga, and other sessions for different age groups. These are run by professional, informative instructors. Staff are friendly and very helpful. You don't need to book in to a session, try it on your own. If you get tired of climbing then relax with a game of table tennis or try out the slack lining. You will need to complete a waiver before starting and must wear socks and shoes. They do have rock climbing shoes for hirer if needed. Hours vary during school holidays. Check out their website for more information. I will be recommending this place to family and friends. See you again soon Hot Rocks!

Mirage Country Club

Mirage Country Club is rated one of the truly great resort courses. The 6200m course is made up of 6 x par threes, 6 x par fours and 6 x par fives. The unique layout takes players through the majestic grounds of the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort for much of the front nine, with 2 fairways adjacent to the famous Four Mile Beach whilst the back nine is fringed by a panoramic and beautiful mountain backdrop. Designed by 5 times British Open winner Peter Thomson together with renowned architect Michael Wolveridge, it is iconic to Port Douglas and Australian golf. Featuring golf bag drop off, first class hire clubs, Aquatic Driving range and beautiful practice putting greens the clubhouse experience is world class. Whilst nurturing membership visitors, casual use golfers and corporate experience are also core business and enquiries are always welcomed.

Great design, highly maintained and staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome, txs to Sue ( bookings were made so easy getting into the comps) Bruce who handled bags carts and Robert the pro for being very helpful. Go play, the course is both idyllic, diverse and some very challenging holes, ranks up amongst the best resort courses I have played at in Oz and Thailand....wonderful days of playing here.
