Gandaki zone (Nepali: गण्डकी अञ्चल Listen (help·info) is one of the fourteen zones of Nepal, located in the Western Development Region. It is named as Sapta Gandaki after the seven tributaries (Kali Gandaki, Trishuli, Budhi Gandaki, Marsyangdi, Madi, Seti Gandaki, and Daraudi) that make up the Gandaki River. Pokhara serves as its regional and zonal capital. It is also the birthplace of Bhanubhakta Acharya, first poet of Nepal.

The tour will start at 9:30am with a pickup from your hotel in Pokhara, by your English speaking guide. You will be driven to all three major Tibetan Refugee settlements: Jampaling, Tashi Palkhie and Tashiling. I did this Yoga and Trek with Sunil back in December and it was truly amazing. I was travelling alone and leaving Canada for the first time, so was a little nervous about everything! Sunil was an awesome guide and I felt very very comfortable hiking around in the mountains with him. I heard of several poor experiences from other travellers, so I'm really glad I went with Sunil. He spoke extremely good English, knowledgeable about the area, and had lots of good stories to tell and conversation was easy. Lastly his knowledge of Yoga was wonderful and just what I was looking for. Mardi Hamal trail was a great trail and way less busy than the other treks. The timing was perfect (end of novemeber/beginning of December) as I was looking forward to dry weather and the "cold" in the mountains was not nearly as bad as I anticipated. It's the dry season at this time and I'm so glad, as we got zero rain and many days of clear blue skies and mornings with amazing sunsets. I honestly can't recommend Sunil and Mardi Hamal enough and I hoping to bring a big group back with me next year!

The best few weeks of my life!!! Doing this trek during the strange times of COVID was always going to be tough but Prakash was so helpful and between us we designed a custom trek that included all the places I wanted to see and visit. I met my guide ( Bir Kaji) at Lukla and we had a great time together; he spoke good English and we shared lots of laughs! He helped a lot as a number of guesthouses were shut due to winter/COVID and ended the hike as friends. If you are thinking of hiking anywhere in the Himalayas look no further than Prime Himalayas!!

We were one of the lucky groups to have access to the Annapurna Santuary days before the Nepalese government closed it, its boarders and grounding of all flights. Our research had found ABC was a trek that teahouses every couple of hours and was relatively safe to do in summertime. As it was March and there was still snowfall with avalanche risk zones so we decided to get a guide to put our minds at ease and give some employment back when tourism was low. We visited several government registered trekking offices but we were overly impressed with the professionalism, safety and good sense of humour from everyone at the offices. From our research on here we dropped into the guys and instantly took a liking to them as they were a friendly bunch of guys. Asked to meet with Milan and knew straight away he would be a great addition to our pairing. He was very helpful, with great English and wanted to shape our trek around our needs and not his own and do it at our pace. He was open to changes to plans and made us feel at ease the whole way up and down. No shortage of interesting traditional facts, wildlife and fauna knowledge, plus a keen photographer, singer and boot fixer extraordinaire! Took our minds off the avalanche zones and allowed us to acclimatise before our ascent. It’s not an easy trek but our guide Milan knows how to make it a good laugh. Ask him to show you his male goat impression!! Even though a guide isn’t mandatory it 100% helps to improve the experience. We saw lots of people do it without and take some very unnecessary risks. Nature is spectacularly beautiful but wicked at the same time. We highly recommend Milan and the team at Sinse Rovers. It’s always good to give employment where possible to decent local tourism business. Enjoy your activity with them it will certainly be memorable!
