June 23, 2021 Velvet Mowry

Not just for retirees and theme park enthusiasts, the Sunshine State offers beautiful beaches, pristine diving conditions, and sizzling nightlife. Salsa the night away in a smokin’ hot Miami club, or swing away at one of Kissimmee’s many premium golf courses. An airboat tour of the Everglades is an unforgettable adventure – just look out for alligators! For the risk-averse, a lazy day spent on the soft sands of an Emerald Coast beach is as rejuvenating as a spa treatment.

Saint Mary Star of the Sea

Astounding church located in old town Key West, corner of US 1, and Windsor lane. Very accepting church, considering it’s location a few streets from the noise, rowdiness of Duval St. plenty of free parking, and as an added bonus, the western side of the church (near the basilica) is a stone prayer grotto, with stone seats, and kneelers, as well as a candle devotion area. History states people would visit the grotto before oncoming hurricanes, as well as light a candle, donate a few dollars to protect our lovely city. I have personally done so, in the face of oncoming hurricanes and storms. Go, visit, and pray.

San Pablo Catholic Church

Reviewed By KayJazz - Bedford, United States

Being a Catholic we always enjoys visiting churches in all our travels. After reading the reviews we knew this was a 'must 'visit'. We had read about the massive Christmas lights display in the gardens and were very lucky they were still on display in mid-January. We spent over 30 minutes enjoying each little area. It was after 8pm, safe to walk around and feel the presence of peace. As it was late, the church doors were locked. Next time we hope to see the rest of this beautiful church. Blessings.

Edgewater Alliance Church

I'm a local member of this church. Our mission is to bring the gospel message of Jesus to every man, woman and child where we live, work and play! Our Sunday morning gatherings are relaxed, casual and friendly, and last about an hour. There's contemporary worship music and Christ-centered Bible teaching. Child care is provided. The services are pretty big, so you won't feel uncomfortable about sticking out if you are visiting. We are nice people :-) and would love for you to check us out - locals or just visitors! Check website for times.

The Sacred Heart is a beautiful Neo Gothic style church built in the very center, in the business district but close to the Riverwalk. The Church is built of stone blocks and the interior is great as well, with nice altar, stained glass and rose window.

They had a drive-thru “petting zoo” (minus the petting due to social distancing) which was a huge hit with our 17-month-old grandson. With local playgrounds being off limits right now this was the sweetest, socially distant experience. Thank you! Thank you! You made our day! Check their website for dates and times, but when we attended the event it was Fridays and Saturdays in May from 11am to 6pm for a $10 donation. Donations go to the care of the animals.
