Khirai Flower Garden

Reviewed By Koel_Maj - Kolkata (Calcutta), India

Khirai flower garden is situated in east Midnapore district of West Bengal near Panskura region. It is known as Valley of flowers of West Bengal. The farm produces some of the best flowers like Chrysanthemum, Marigold, cockswomb, sweet william for the rest of India. This farm is a source of livelihood for a lot of people around that region. So while visiting don't ruin the flowers by going inside the fields carelessly. This place is a great option for one day trip from kolkata. Best time to visit khirai is from the months of December to February when flowers are at full bloom. This place is easily accessible by local trains from Kolkata at regular intervals. It takes around two hours from Howrah station to reach the Khirai. You can take either Howrah Midnapore local or Howrah Kharagpur Local trains. You can travel by bike/car to reach this place. By road it takes around 2.5 hours -3 hours. A detailed video on this place is there on my YT Channel TravellersLens . Do check it out.

Directions:- Before you reache digha take a left from Balisai to reach Sankarpur. You can visit both Tajpur and Sankarpur in this route, Tajpur comes first then comes Sankarpur. Road condition is extremely bad. Dike construction is going on. No crowd is there. So you can take your time and enjoy the beach. It is a quiet place with the rumbling sounds of sea waves. Spend few hours and move forward to digha.
